Do you have a genuine interest in technology and in helping young people discover their hidden talents and potential? The brand new Intel Computer Clubhouse of the Peninsula Family YMCA at Moonridge needs adult mentors to:
Current mentors at other Computer Clubhouses internationally are parents and students with interest or experience in areas such as art, education, video production, mixing or digitizing music, graphic design, software development, or architecture. The Computer Clubhouse (http://www.computerclubhouse.org) is an after-school learning environment where young people explore their own interests and become confident learners through the use of technology. The Clubhouse consists of high-end computers, including a video production station, a music room with mixing equipment and keyboard, and 15 work stations containing over 50 professional level software programs. A program focused on providing opportunities for under-served youth, the Peninsula Family YMCA Clubhouse is one of approximately 40 Computer Clubhouses world-wide. Mandy Clothier, Computer Clubhouse Coordinator, is now accepting volunteer applicants for summer and fall schedules. Day and evening mentoring times are available.
